My filming approach can be described as run-and-gun, enabling me to capture genuine and unscripted moments alone with my subjects. I believe this style fosters an atmosphere of trust, allowing for the authentic and vulnerable moments to unfold naturally on camera.

Colin & Judy’s Vintage Adventures

Hailing from Napier, Colin and Judy embrace the Art Deco scene. From the clothes they wear to the vehicles they drive, they live and breathe a passion for all things vintage.

This film was originally inspired by their 1938 Chevrolet ½ tonne pick-up towing a self-built traditional-style shepherd’s hut caravan. But over the course of filming, it evolved into a story of their overall outlook on life. A joyful philosophy that shines through as a lesson for us all, to embrace every opportunity that comes along for a life “rich in experiences”.

My History

I’m Naenae born and raised in the demographically diverse neighbourhoods of Lower Hutt.

A career highlight:

I was priviledged with the task of promoting both a music show Coast and a Māori All Black test match on the newly established Māori Television network. During that time there was public negativity fuelled by individuals like Don Brash, who propogated the notion that it was a waste of public money. My promotions included urban Māori going about their life and compelling them to join the entourage that lead to the live on-air recording in the studio.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. It placed Māori TV on the world map through winning Gold and Silver global Promax Awards respectively. Māori TV was here to stay.
