FIXES

MUST wear same clothes as last recording. Try to get same color/lighting as before but not too HOT/SHINY on face as it causes nasty reflection.

The problem with last record is that the recording finished a minute before end. And it was handheld.

FRAMING: Fill the frame as below and directly opposite, but:

  • For Grayson/drums and Austyn/keyboard shoot in landscape/sideways (see below) LOCKED-OFF in 4K 60fps as before

  • Others in portrait/up-down, LOCKED-OFF in 4K 60fps as before

  • must have empty frame JUST before the song starts. 1 sec empty. This is important. Same as end. Finish song and then leave frame

Pls send me 1-3 secs of any one of the landscape setups and one of Jesse in portrait setup as your test. I’ll check it straight away and reply. I want to check the crop factor at my end. (Thats with one of you in shot). Also Scott and Devon as pictured in landscape would be great to have in addition to the portrait to see head and both hands on strings/fret in shot (in portrait, as per above, would be too wide). Be careful with this on all shots. ie not too wide.

These shots you did work really well but the song stops and starts. Jesse has his jean jacket off. Leave it on. Also we don’t have Scott. Can we have the same curtain behind as seen below. We need Devon AND Scott (he can have the guitar outside frame), but Scott needs to engage the camera now and then.

Notice below that there’s little definition in faces. Try moving light away a tad and with a bit more angle (the light, not the camera), And step away from background too. ALWAYs replay your shot to check by. If on phone then take a photo of a video frame then enlarge it: see if theres noise or the face gets too soft. . . BUT looking below i do like. Depends on you guys. :)

  • The keyboard closeup is great to have. Need to reshoot. This time lock it off

  • EXTRAS: with camera locked off at shoulder height, point the camera to a light pointing back to camera, then all of your heads enter and leave the frame in-a-row.

    • I need 5 different shots of drum sticks, mic, amp, keyboard display getting lit (or 1x red peaking) etc. More ideas the better. ie one prop per person. Use angles/perspective and don’t look too deliberate.
